Terms of Service
Last updated: June 30, 2026
Welcome to Think Ribbon. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Think Ribbon ("Think Ribbon", "we", "us", or "our") and govern your use of the Think Ribbon website and mobile app (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who can use Think Ribbon
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service.
- If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms.
- You may use the Service only in compliance with these Terms and all laws that apply to you.
2. Your account
You sign in through our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information and keeping it up to date;
- Maintaining the security of your account and login credentials; and
- All activity that happens under your account.
Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You can delete your account at any time from your settings.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms. In short, do not use the Service to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, or impersonate others, or post hateful, illegal, or infringing content;
- Spam, manipulate ratings or engagement, or flood the Service;
- Post automated or AI-generated replies or comments directed at other people. You may automate posting of your own content, but automated or AI-generated responses to others are not permitted;
- Access the Service through unauthorized automated means, scrape it, or interfere with its normal operation or security; or
- Attempt to circumvent moderation, bans, or other enforcement.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you create. Posts, articles, reviews, comments, ratings, lists, and other content you submit remain yours.
So that we can actually show your content to the people you are sharing it with and operate the platform, you grant Think Ribbon a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, reformat, and distribute your content solely to operate, provide, and promote the Service. This license:
- Exists only for the purposes above — we will never sell your content, and we will not use it in external advertising without your permission;
- Ends when you delete the content or your account, except for (a) copies kept briefly in routine backups, (b) content other users have already shared, quoted, or interacted with, and (c) anything we must retain to comply with law or resolve disputes.
You are responsible for the content you post, and you confirm that you have the rights to post it and that it does not violate these Terms or anyone else's rights.
5. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the Service, we may use them freely to improve Think Ribbon without any obligation to you.
6. Our content and intellectual property
The Service itself — including its software, design, and the Think Ribbon name and branding — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Game information such as titles, cover art, release dates, and similar metadata comes from IGDB and other third parties and remains the property of its respective owners. Except for your own content and what these Terms or applicable law allow, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service.
7. Third-party services
Think Ribbon relies on and links to third-party services, including Clerk (authentication), Convex (backend), UploadThing (image hosting), IGDB / Twitch (game data), and the game-store and community accounts you choose to connect (such as Steam, GOG, Epic Games, and Discord). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.
8. Moderation and enforcement
To keep Think Ribbon safe and useful, we may review, remove, hide, or restrict content, and we may warn, temporarily restrict (read-only), suspend, or ban accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the community, other users, or Think Ribbon.
We aim to act fairly and proportionately. If you believe an action was a mistake, contact us at privacy@thinkribbon.com and we will review it.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. When your account ends, the license you granted in Section 4 winds down as described there, and the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (such as content ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
10. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Think Ribbon running well, but we have to be upfront: the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, about the Service, and we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that game data and other information will always be accurate or complete. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Think Ribbon will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, including your mandatory consumer-protection rights.
12. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to cover us (legally, to "indemnify" us) for claims, damages, and expenses that arise from content you post, your misuse of the Service, or a breach of these Terms.
13. Copyright and DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, contact us at privacy@thinkribbon.com with:
- A description of the copyrighted work and the allegedly infringing content (with a link);
- Your contact information;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; and
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
We will review valid notices, remove or disable infringing content where appropriate, and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed by mistake, you may send us a counter-notice.
14. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We are still building Think Ribbon, so the Service will change over time — we may add, modify, or discontinue features. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we may notify you within the Service. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
We would much rather sort out any problem directly. If you have a dispute with us, contact us first at privacy@thinkribbon.com and we will try in good faith to resolve it.
If we cannot resolve it informally, the dispute will be handled by a court of competent jurisdiction. These Terms are governed by the applicable law of the place where the Service is operated, without limiting any mandatory rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
16. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Community Guidelines, and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
